Keef Cross is a retired tattoo artist and award winning graphic novelist. Growing up being influenced by Ralph Bakshi, Vaugn Bode’, Wendy Pini, and Dawud Anyabwile to name a few, really shaped his visual aesthetic and his approach to creating his comic book,DayBlack. KEEF found that those underground comics of the 70’s always had one foot in raunchiness and excess , and another foot in philosophy and social commentary, a combination that fascinated him as a kid. Who knew that in those adult comics he hid from his mother, he would find his own individual voice and style.
