Hampton University and Joe Kubert School Alum, US Army Combat Veteran Lloyd Briggery (he/him) is an illustrator and storyteller. As Events Coordinator of TKS, he spent nearly a decade representing the school at comic-cons around the world, taught various classes, and interviewed some of the industry’s most prolific practitioners, all while taking copious notes for his own art career. The name “Lloyd” means “grey king” so it’s no surprise that his visual aesthetic reflects his love for grey tones he describes as “a visual exploration of chiaroscuro with varying shades of grey, with the occasional splash of red”. His collection displays his ability to take iconic personas and give them a vintage appeal to create contemporary classics. Lloyd is currently working on a third volume of his illustration collections as well as an anthology that will be available later this year.
