Robert Peters, originally from Sabon Gari, Kaduna, Nigeria, and raised in Jos, Plateau State, relocated to Lagos in 1999 after graduating from the University of Jos with a degree in Geology. In 2005, he relocated to the United States where he pursued a certificate in Visual Storytelling at New York University. Peters immersed himself in the film industry through hands-on experience with Film Career Connection in Atlanta, gaining valuable insights on various film sets across the United States. Additionally, he honed his skills with REDucation, a training program focused on Red cameras and equipment, under the guidance of industry professionals.
Today, Robert is the founder and operator of Whitestone Pictures LLC, a film production studio and gear rental house situated in Snellville, Georgia. Over the past decade, he has forged collaborations with a wide array of Hollywood and Nollywood luminaries, including Vivica A. Fox, Lynn Whitfield, Eric Roberts, Karlie Redd, Paul Campbell, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Neville Sajere, AY, Ramsey Noah, Desmond Elliott, Majid Michel, Nse Ikpe-Etim, LisaRaye McCoy, Tangi Miller, and Anthony Ray Parker, among others. His work has been lauded with numerous film and video awards.
Robert directed the two highest-grossing films in West Africa, “30 Days in Atlanta” and “A Trip to Jamaica.” He also contributed to “Carpe Diem” and “The Dowry Man” both featured in DSTV African Magic’s original film lineup for September to Remember in 2015. Many of Roberts films are available on popular streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Tubi.
