I am an illustrator of Comics, Graphic Novels, who also dabbles in the realm of concept art, character design and Graphic Design. Living and working in the Washington, DC (DMV) area, with a background in fine art, my education includes the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Maryland College of Art and Design, the Gye Nyame institute of Art and a long and rich mentor and pupil relationship with Kofi Tyus a professional artist in the Washington, DC area who has taught me so much about this business and I still have much more to learn.
A lot of my work I’ve learned is inspired by the energy of dynamic 90’s comics, Manga artists like Boichi and Takehiko Inoue. not to mention all the awesome stuff from Humanoids publishing. I believe Art is communication, it talks about things words fail to describe. So I believe its more important to know your voice and understand your narrative to be a long term relevant artist. there are objective and subjective truths about ourselves and life and I believe art is a way of exploring those possibilities.
